Organisation

This page explains the structure of the course and its organisational framework.

Lecture

  • Takes place as an in-person event
  • Presents the topics and explains them using practical examples

Exercises

  • Exercise sheets are provided every week, which you work on in preparation for the exercise sessions.
  • In the exercise sessions, we answer your questions about the lecture topics and discuss the solutions to the exercise sheets. For this to work well, however, it is important that you have already solved the exercise sheets beforehand, either on your own or in groups.
  • Exercise sessions thrive on active participants!
  • Registration for the group exercises takes place via the "Participants" tab in Stud.IP. Out of fairness to the other students, please only register for an exercise session if you actually plan to attend. We reserve the right to deregister students who do not attend the exercise sessions in order to give others the opportunity to participate.

Open programming tutorial

  • There is a weekly programming tutorial in which you can program on your own or together with others.
  • This offer is in addition to the regular exercise sessions.
  • No exercise sheets or lecture content are discussed here.

Material

We provide the materials for the lecture and the exercises on a weekly basis.

  • Slides present the content of the lecture.
  • Example programs help you understand practical aspects of programming. You should definitely download them, try them out and modify them yourself.
  • Exercise sheets contain tasks to deepen the theoretical and practical content.
Notes on the use of the material

The provision of the listed material is a service on the part of TUHH or the lecturer. No claims against TUHH or the lecturer can be derived from the use or non-use of the material.

Without the prior written consent of the lecturer, neither the material nor the content provided therein (including, in particular, graphics, audio and video sequences, program code and text) may be copied, reprinted, published, sent, transmitted or distributed or sold in any way. However, the production of a single copy for exclusively personal, non-commercial use is expressly permitted, but only on condition that the content is not altered thereby and that all notices of copyrights, patents, trademarks and other proprietary rights are also included on the copies produced or, in the case of excerpts, that a corresponding notice is added there.

No liability is assumed:

  • for the content of the material, in particular for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the information,
  • for the material being available at all times without interruption,
  • for damages caused by incorrect, incomplete, omitted or delayed retrieval of the material,
  • for direct or indirect damages that are (or could be) related to the use or non-use of the material.

TUHH or the lecturer reserves the right to change, supplement or delete parts of the offer or the entire offer without prior notice, or to discontinue publication temporarily or permanently.

Assessment

Assessment takes place at the end of the semester via a written exam, the date of which has not yet been determined. During the lecture period, there will be tests (Testate) that take place online. The tests are a voluntary, ungraded offer that allows you to check your level of knowledge. They do not count towards your grade.
